Kota Kinabalu - Sabah, Borneo

Kota Kinabalu is capital of the Malaysian state of Sabah. We used KK as a base for our Borneo exploration, spending about one week here in total. Its fair to say that KK, like many other of Sabah's towns, is a concrete jungle.

First evening sunset across the bay...a great view with great smell. Our return to Malaysia reminds us that it stinks here compared to the rest of SE Asia.

Our first supermarket in couple of months....Suvi busted at the candy isle!

Next morning....KK by daylight....concrete jungle.

Suvi at our lodgings.

This sign sums up our Asia toilet experiences.....

Rainy morning searching for Probosics Monkey.

Private launch....no other westerners here.

...at last, a sighting!

The best Probosics Monkey image we have! They were very good at hiding thier noses - for a good reason!

.....hey, where'd my cake go?

Here, a firefly....terrible photo though...need D-SLR and tripod for any hope of capturing these glowing insects in action.

Scratching gekko's belly.

Birthday Japanese feast :-)
