Buenos Aires and Uruguay

From the wilderness to the smog via 3hr flight - what a shock to the system. Buenos Aires offered some tango, historic plazas and football, but thats about it. Not our favourite place, but worth visiting for couple days - or 6 if you have food poisoning and spend the first days in the loo :)

Market stall at Plaza Dorrego, San Telmo

Loco (=crazy) Boca Juniors fans.

Beautiful sunset over the stadium. Boca won 3-2...woahooo!!!

Puerto Madero - brown waters and rather small harbour.

Views of the city.

Argentinian tango dancers were everywhere.

Obelisco.

20 lane highway at the city center - nice!

Enjoying 3 pound (per bottle) wine at a pigeon free table.

Leaving the noise and filth for a day - destination Uruguay.

Enjoying the quiet streets of Colonia Del Sacramento, Uruguay.

Feeling a bit shaky at a light house. David trying to get me outside - not a chance.

Full size whale skeleton - cool!

Our touristic round included - of course - a tile museum.

Njam.

Plaza Mayor, terrace heaven.

Socialist political rally in town center.

Great historic cobbled streets.

Sunset views leaving Uruguay - back to the smog.

Pedal boats from the 50's.

Picnic in Palermo park - semi peaceful with railway behind and airplanes flying over every 5 min. This is as quiet as it gets in BA.

Its inpolite not to invite locals to the picnic table :)

Cemetario de la Recoleta.

I just loooove the touristic sites here :) Cats feasting on David's lunch.
