North Thailand - Chiang Mai

From Bangkok we took a 13 hour train ride to the north, spending 10 days in laid back Chiang Mai.

Dad porn - this rolling stock is from Leeds, England.

Pool table in back of a bar - note the owners motor bike making cueing difficult.

Thai 'Hot Pot' dinner.

...Moat surrounding the city centre.

Hmmm...Banana pancakes from road side vendor.

Whilst eating the pancake we noticed these little guys in the drain just next to us.....still finished the pancake though!

Entrance to the market district.

This was a fireworks stall at the market....amazing!

Suvi crossing the market.

Trotters for sale!

Lots more slimey stuff for sale....most of it still alive.

Sunday walking market.

The Herb Garden at the Thai cooking school.

Suvi with meat cleaver....watch out!

Making Thai Green Curry with pestel and mortar.

Sampling our fine dinner with the other students.

The Thai's always grab the opportunity for a nap!

Thai bridge building....hmmmm.
Strike a pose!
The Thais never miss a sales opportunity - banana sales kiosks were to be found every 200m during the elephant ride. Us 'cheap' backpackers refused to buy despite the guilt.

Activities day out - river rafting.

Cooling off during the hot river trip.

...couldn't resist the opportunity for a jump!
