Saigon

Saigon ( Ho Chi Minh City ) served as a 3 day educational stop over for us. We are now expert in all things Vietnam war related - understanding is difficult - it depends on whose account of the war you believe.
Compared to Hanoi, spending time in HCMC was a breeze. There were marginally less motorbikes, crossing the road on 'green' was less dangerous and there seemed to be a more laid back vibe.

Arrival in monsoon rains.

Our top dollar hotel :-)

Room with a view.

Our street view.

Telephone engineers nightmare.

OK, there was a few motorbikes here also.

Local motorbike taxi waiting to spot the next tourist.

At the War Reminants Museum.

Some nasty war exhibits.

...Tells its own story.

Suvi with colour coded lunch.

Cu Chi Tunnels west of HCMC. We managed to stoop / crawl only 30m of the 140m streatch.

Bullets for sale if you want to fire an AK47.

The American's way to flush out the Vietnamese. This big hole was caused by a passing B52.

Three level tunnel complexity with escape to the river....very clever.

More nasties!
