With no trace of a hang over, we headed south again to the Lao capital city, Vientiane. With our passage into Vietnam now at the forefront of our minds, our decision to go here revolved around the fact that Vientiene had an airport. With horror stories of 37 hour, cliff top, bus journeys from Laos to Hanoi ( Vietnam) we decided to take the marginally less risky option to fly with 'ultra modern' also described as 'accident prone', Lao Airlines.
Other than an airport, Vientiene did not offer us much. On the positive side, the fresh spring roles were very tasty. Negatively, however, 42deg temperatures and bed bugs will not help us think effectionatly about the Lao capital.
One of the 'exciting' sites... forgot what it was already.
Another 'interesting' site - resembling Arc Du Triuph, Paris. You can tell that the French were here.
42 degrees... where is the closest pool???
Result of spending a day in a Lao pool, green hair... bugger.
Near by fountain.
